SpeedAlert

Here is a device to help drivers control from speeding up. Death caused by speeding cars and drivers risking themselves are no new or less frequent an issue. To let a driver know when he is speeding, an Australian company has developed a system.

Called SpeedAlert, the system links speed with real-time location data. These data are obtained with the Global Positioning System’s (GPS) help to a database of posted speed limits, which are stored in a driver’s programmable mobile phone (PDA).

Based in Sydney, the Smart Car Technologies has developed the product. It wishes the government to deploy the technology in their automobile fleets and save lives lost from speeding cars and speed driving. Sydney will soon put the product in its market-shelves.
