The UK-based OC Robotics along with Airbus is developing artificial skin for the UK firm’s ’snake-arm’ robots! Yes, its robots will get a sensor-packed skin, making it even more sensitive capable of providing far more information about the environment in which they work.
Operated by remote control with software, the rest of the articulated body of the snake-arm robots follows its ‘head’. These robots can operate in a variety of difficult environments that ranges from inside jet engines and collapsed buildings right through to space telescopes, avalanches, and even inside the human body! The company has now ventured into making them more sensitive.
