Now, you can literally interact with your car while driving. With the in-car navigation systems existing for some time now, a new German project has come up with a bit more innovations.
The project — dubbed SmartWeb — will be using the semantic web and peer-to-peer networks for interacting with drivers. This system is currently in its development phase, and once built will be using speech recognition and human gestures as interfaces.
The system is also capable of warning drivers about jams and dangers. The drivers in other cars with navigation systems will be informed of detected slippery conditions via their dashboard screen or a GPS-equipped mobile device.
But the SmartWeb will do not just that! It will also transmit other information-types to drivers – be it about parking availability or speed traps!
Thanks to the Deutsche Forschungszentrum für Künstliche Intelligenz (DFKI) — or German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence for leading this amazing project.

Adding comfort and safety to drivers. This technology is worth giving an award for being human-friendly.
