Progressing on a thin-film technology, researchers are getting closer to successful harnessing and using the solar energy for both heating and cooling. Now this technology will be using both solar cells and heat pumps onto surfaces, turning soda bottles into climate control systems!
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) researcher Steven Van Dessel along with his team made their most recent progress, which includes a computer model that is capable of helping them simulate the climate within their test structure atop the RPI Student Union.
