Scientists have figured out some complex mathematical equations for making objects invisible.

A group of Engineers have used calculations from previous research to design a device that can one day make objects as big as an airplane simply disappear.

According to the researchers the design makes use of tiny needles to be fitted into a hairbrush shaped cone at angles and lengths that would force light to pass around the cloak.

For this we have to first understand the phenomenon by which we can see objects. Actually we see objects when the light falling on these objects is reflected back from their surfaces and hits our eye. Now if we can develop a device that does not reflect light back from the object then we will not be able to see the object. This can be compared to glass as we cannot see glass in light as it does not reflect light back to us.

If a similar technology can be applied to objects then we can make them invisible. Scientists involved in the research have also stated that they also know that the technology might sound to be a science fiction, but is in accordance to the laws of physics.

The major limitation of the current design is that it can bend light of a single wavelength and the object is not visible under that specific wavelength of light. Developing a similar device that can bend lights of all wavelengths is still a technological challenge for the researchers, but they have stated that it is possible according to the laws of Physics.

Researchers have commented that making an object invisible under a single wavelength also has many applications. The cloak could shield soldiers from night vision goggles which use only one wavelength of light. It could also be used to hide objects from laser designators used by military to illuminate a target.

Some other researchers also tried to achieve the same but could only manage to hide objects in microwave spectrum. This is the first time that researchers have made an object invisible in a spectrum that is visible to human eye.
