A recent research by Craig Venter concentrated on the breaking of the human genetic code. Venter has made a synthetic chromosome out of lab chemicals and calls it the first new artificial life form of earth. Basically, Venter has been busy playing God.

This research used a bunch of lab chemicals and stitched them into a chromosome. The artificially developed chromosome is about 381 genes long and contains about 580,000 base pairs. I am sure that constructing a chromosome has been a pain in the rear for the team of 20 scientists led by Venter.Venter told The Guardian in an interview that the creation is:

a very important philosophical step in the history of our species. We are going from reading our genetic code to the ability to write it. That gives us the hypothetical ability to do things never contemplated before

The new life form will be able to replicate itself by copying the molecular process. The scientists believe that the designer genomes have a huge amount of positive potential. In other words, a lot can be done with it. This is basically a new form of life in a test tube. So here, you gotta think out of the box.

Venter believes that the research team has created a base for future.
Using this base almost anything can be possible. For example, new bacteria from the designer genome could clean up the excessive carbon dioxide. The creation of the designer genome marks a giant step to the future.
