Drunken-driving has become a serious social problem. To cope with it, Japanese auto giant Toyota Motor Corp. will soon come up with a system that is capable of stopping a vehicle if it detects that the driver is drunk!
Expected to be on the shelves of the market in 2009, the system detects alcohol content in the driver’s blood by analyzing sweat on his palms.
And, if the reading was above safety limits, the system would not allow the vehicle to be started then, as the Asahi Shimbun reported. The system is also capable of analyzing the driver’s eye movement, driving performance and other factors to avoid them to go for unsafe, drunken driving.
Thanks to the auto giant Toyota Motor Corp. for designing such a society-friendly system.
