From across the Universe and space to thousands of leagues under the sea, NASA does not seem to know any boundaries for explorations and taking challenges. As this year’s third mission, NASA begins with an undersea laboratory off the Florida coast, with four astronauts splashing down on a seven-day undersea mission September 16.

NASA’s third mission this year to an undersea laboratory off the Florida coast begins when four astronauts splash down Sept. 16. During this mission — NASA Extreme Environment Mission Operations (NEEMO) 11 — astronauts will be imitating moonwalks. To simulate lunar gravity, they will be testing the mobility-concepts for using various spacesuit configurations and weights.

The astronauts undersea will also test techniques for communication, navigation, geological sample retrieval, construction and also using remote-controlled robots on the moon’s surface.
