cyst-kidney 19
Kidney patients can take a sigh of relief as a compound of centuries old Chinese traditional medicine has been used by a US scientist for preventing formation of kidney destroying cysts in a mouse model. It is being regarded as the first treatment which could replace painful dialysis or kidney transplant.

The compound is called as triptolide and has been extracted from lei gong teng which is a Chinese herb used for treating cancer and auto immune diseases. Here triptolide was used in smaller concentration and it was found out to bring down the formation of cyst in the mice as compared to mice which were not served with the compound. If human trials turn out to be successful then this could emerge as a path breaking discovery for the medical field.
