Mind reader: The technology could be used to tailor advertising to the mood of a user

Reading people’s mind has always been interesting and difficult a job. A new computer is to come, which will help you with this job - yes, read people’s mind! British and American scientists are developing a computer, which we can define as ‘emotionally aware.’

The researchers are optimistic that the new computer will be able to read thoughts of an individual. It will do this by analyzing a combination of facial movements, representing underlying feelings.

Once successful, the applications of the computer could range from improving people’s driving skills to helping companies tailor advertising to people’s moods, according to Professor Peter Robinson and his collaborators from the University of Cambridge, in England.
