Astronomers have successfully captured some amazing pictures of two of the most distant galaxies ever seen! These pictures for the first time confirm that these celestial cherubs are real! The ultra-deep images are taken at infrared wavelengths.
These achievements will now help researchers weigh galaxies and determine their age at earlier times than ever before. Hence, they will provide important clues about the evolutionary origins of galaxies — like our Milky Way.
The work is published in the October 1 issue of Astrophysical Journal Letters.
