A chance discovery has given birth to a new treatment for the hard-to-heal ulcers, which is based on a protein that occurs naturally in the blood. Congratulations to a group of researchers at the Sutton Arthritis Research laboratories at the University of Sydney’s Kolling Institute for uncovering this groundbreaking discovery.
It was when the researchers were looking for new treatments for rheumatoid arthritis, they happened to discover the protein, realizing it as a new treatment for wounds and ulcers.
The treatment does not only assure an ulcer patient of healing it, but is also capable of reducing swelling, inflammation and redness. It has also proved successful in treating patients suffering from hard-to-heal ulcers, according to Associate Professor Chris Jackson.
